Integrating the natural environment into the urban form in Salt Lake City

After a two month stay in Salt Lake City, UT Dreemweaver Concepts became inspired to explore combining the majestic natural environment that surrounds the City with the existing urban form. We created a document that makes the case as to why such an intervention would be timely and beneficial along with designing three exploratory streetscape renderings to illustrate the potential of this concept. Converting the Detroit City Airport into a delivery drone distribution center

This project combines research and advocacy work done by Daniel Klinkert MUP LCSW while serving on the Detroit Planning Commission during the municipal bankruptcy process. The Detroit City Airport is a municipally owned aviation hub that ran a $1 million dollar operating deficit but could not be shut down due to FAA mandates. Daniel found the opportunities presented by this facility intriguing which led to Daniel doing graduate level research on converting the facility into an intermodal logistics hub. During period that the City of Detroit fell into bankruptcy, delivery drone technology began to take off which led Daniel into revisiting his earlier work and modifying his proposal to focus on delivery drone research and development.
